The Texas Real Estate Fund, Inc., (TREF) is pleased to announce Imperial Market - Sugar Land, Texas - the most iconic and unique lifestyle shopping center in Houston. Imperial Market is an 850,000 sf mixed-use lifestyle center being developed on 26 acres on US Hwy 90, between I-69 and TX Hwy 6 (over 75,000 cars daily). The site is the iconic original home of the original Imperial Sugar Company Refinery, founded in 1843 and now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Imperial Market is the centerpiece of a new 720-acre master planned community known as Imperial.  Construction of Imperial Market will commence in Q4 2017 with a grand opening in Q1 2019. 


Imperial Market will be comprised of 258,000 sf of upscale retail and restaurant space, 100,000 sf of “A” quality office space, a 300,000 sf, 274 unit luxury residential complex, and a 135,000 sf - 165 room high end boutique hotel. In addition, the Houston Children’s Museum has chosen Imperial Market as the new home of the Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center. The well-respected Sugar Land Heritage Foundation has also signed a binding agreement to locate at the site. These two venues are projected to attract nearly 150,000 visitors annually to Imperial Market. The renowned Houston architect, Roger Soto of HOK, has designed Imperial Market in such a way as to respect and preserve its historic significance. 


The Imperial community features the state of the art Constellation Field, home of the Sugar Land Skeeters baseball club, which draws in excess of 500,000 fans per year and is within walking/biking distance from Imperial Market. In addition, the existing Farmers Market at Imperial, a popular and long-standing tradition at the Imperial Market site, will continue to be a signature event, much to the delight of its nearly 100,000 annual visitors. Imperial Market is a short walk or bike ride from the upscale Imperial residential neighborhoods now under construction which will feature nearly 2,000 new homes.
